About Richie Delahunty
Richard Delahunty is a teacher and multi-instrumentalist from Tipperary and now resides in Cork city.
Banjo, mandolin, acoustic and electric guitar are his instruments of choice to wield on a weekly basis in performing Irish Traditional, Folk, Americana, Rock, Funk and Jazz music.
Richie, at age 24, is well travelled throughout Ireland and abroad having played with bands such as Moxie, Goitse, Cúig, Boxing Banjo, The Fureys, Acabella, Chris Leonard, NOMIS and many more.
Richie is an all-Ireland Fleadh Ceoil title holder in U18 and Senior Mandolin, as well as Senior Miscellaneous for tenor guitar. He is a recent graduate of the UCC BA Music and Arts degree and currently works full time at music be it gigging, teaching or recording.
I'm based in Cork City and teach banjo, mandolin and acoustic or electric guitar for all levels. The prices for a class are €20 for 30 minutes or €25 for 45 minutes. Please contact me on email, by phone to book a class or check me out on youtube.
2013-present: Music teacher for Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann and solo music tuition. My other teaching work includes UCC workshops and lessons through Music Generation Cork.
2014-present: Full time musician. My live gigging career has consisted of gigs in live music venues, pubs, restaurants and churches for a variety of band and solo gigs.
2016-present: Session musician. I have worked with many different recording artists, bands and producers in an array of studios and more recently from my remote home studio. Some of the artists, bands and producers I've worked with include: Billy Farrell (DeadEye Productions), Martin Quinn (Jam Studios), NOMIS, Moxie, Ruairi De Leastar, Lorraine Nash, Tomás Ó Dalaigh, Ryan Phoenix and Cormac Crumney
