Biography
Pat Horgan is a singer, songwriter, guitarist from Cork, Ireland.
Pat featured on four albums with the Dizzy Blues Band as well as an earlier solo album “Tennessee Embrace” which was recorded in Nashville. Pat has composed for RTE Radio 1, Ireland’s national station, and he also wrote and presented a number of radio documentaries on Woody Guthrie, Leadbelly, Song Collectors, and other music related subjects. Pat has performed regularly in Ireland, mainland Europe, and the US, solo, or with the Dizzy Blues Band and Los Hombres Aturdidos in Spain.
His latest album, “First to Step out of the Picture” is a collection of originals, reflecting on love, loneliness and the perceived wisdom of mankind through the eyes of someone who grew up with the hippy dream of peace, love and happiness. The accompaniment is sparse to allow the music to breathe and the vocal is raw and honest to express the lyrical sentiment. The album was recorded at Lettercollum Recording Studio in Timoleague, County Cork, Ireland. Production duties were shared between Pat and studio maestro John Fitzgerald. It was mastered at Gene Paul’s (son of Les!) studio in New Jersey.
